I woke this morning to hear the sad news that the graceful Aretha Franklin passed away overnight from pancreatic cancer, 41 years to the days since the passing of Elvis. Known as the Queen of Soul, her soulful tunes have graced our airwaves for over 50 years. The Queen of Soul joins the King of Rock in Roll making what will be a concert not to be missed.
It was also in 1948 we said fair well to Babe Ruth on this day, the Sultan of Swat, of New York Yankees fame left us after battle with throat cancer.
