Elvis AI

My son has been trying out some AI tools over the last week.  AI, Artificial Intelligence, covers a lot of areas from things like ChatGPT that can answer questions for you, Generative AI that generates and creates content, Machine Learning and all sorts of fancy stuff my son tells me about that I never understand (or stop paying attention)!

Last week Dave showed me how he created a movie trailer script using ChatGPT, used that script to generate the voice over for the trailer and then used “text image tools” to generate pictures purely from words.  Those images were then converted to moving video, he overlaid the audio, added some music and whammo, he had created a movie trailer in about 45 minutes.

So, given how interesting I found it, I thought I’d get Dave to share just how easy it is to create these types of things in case you wanted to have a go yourself.  It's easier than you might think, I obviously I asked him to give it an Elvis slant too!  And best of all, all of these are free tools (they just limited how much you can use them).

So here goes....

Text to Image

Probably one of the more fun tools is Text to Image (or Art).  You simply write what you want the images to look like and this tool does the rest, it is that easy!  Here are two examples.

This is the text we provided and the resulting images

Old man aged 74 with grey hair in the style of Elvis.  He has a dent in his chin and wearing clear aviator style glasses.  He is wearing white overalls with the name Kevin on the left side of the chest in red text.  Around him are pictures of Elvis Presley and a blue 1972 Cadillac with a white roof.  There are albums of Elvis on the the wall.

Then we tweaked the description and settings a bit like this.

There are albums and pictures of Elvis on the the wall.  There is also a picture of a black dog and Mount Taranaki in the background.

As you can see, not perfect but pretty cool ehh!?!?!?

Text to Song!

This next tool you can create your own songs from the Suno site!  Simply provide a description of what you want the song to be about, describe the style (ie Rock n Roll) and boom, you have a pretty decent song!  Try not to use words it may not recognise, like names.  Unfortunately for this one it didn’t like the name Presley!

Here’s the description I used and then simply selected “Generate Lyrics” for it to then generate the words for the song.

KD is his name and he ran a painting and paperhanging business for 50 years in his home town

KD is a massive Elvis and rock and roll fan.

His garage is full of Elvis memorabilia so much so the vehicles can no longer fit in the garage and have to be parked outside

He's not allowed any of his Elvis stuff in the house as his wife JJ says "no" because as KD says, she is "the one who must be obeyed"

KD owns a blue 1972 Cadillac and he loves taking roadies around the mountain

KD loves a cold beer and has a liking for Budweiser on a nice hot day

KD has the Elvis swish back hair style and sideburns and cranks out a pretty good Elvis number of stage

Once you have the words to your song just provide a style of music (we used “Rock n Roll, Elvis, guitar”) then hit Create.  It'll create two different songs for you, this is what I got from the above description.

Some Other Tools

If you gave those a go you'll see just how easy, and how much fun it can be! There are a few other tools you might want to have a go at too.

Simply add your text and it converts to speech - simple.

Ask ChatGPT to create some content for you.  For example – “write me a movie trailer about a space ship landing on mars and finding a Macdonalds drive through selling burgers”

It's crazy what you get back. The experts out there can then copy the “Narrator” parts of that script, past it into the Voice Generator above and you can start creating your movie trailer!

This is where you can take a static image, such as a photo or one you may have created above, then add audio you created from the Voice Generator.

The real fun is when you start using all of the above tools together to generate text, convert to audio, create some images and overlay that audio to the image. That's where you can get creative. Just like this (a still image with audio added)...
