I had the pleasure of hosting Invercargill Mayor Sir Tim Shadbolt at the museum this weekend. Sir Tim had planned a trip to Taranaki some time ago to attend the Womad festival, which unfortunately was cancelled due to our COVID Traffic Light system making it difficult for organisers to plan and run large events. That didn't deter Sir Tim from still travelling to Taranaki to catch up with old friends and trip around the region seeing the many sites.
I was honoured to have Sir Tim swing by the museum and spend time chatting about just about everything ranging from his current mayoralty, music and the weather! You can just imaging a couple of early/mid seventy year olds gibbering away!! ;-)
